About Us
Tye Blanton
Tye Blanton Foundation
Tye Blanton was the son of slain Trooper Shawn Blanton and wife Michaela. Tye fought with numerous medical conditions, including congestive heart failure at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Memorial Mission Hospital until his death at 4 1/2 months.
To honor Tye, the Tye Blanton Foundation supplies items for premature and sick infants of the NICU to give a sense of personality and comfort to these infants and help parents make the NICU a home away from home.
The Tye Blanton Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. In honor of Tye Blanton, the foundation's mission is to provide assistance and support to the families of premature infants of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of Memorial Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC.
In addition, the Tye Blanton Foundation helps parents stay afloat during their baby's stay in the NICU by providing the "little things" to allow parents to keep their focus on their child, exactly where it needs to be.
Founders
Board of Directors & Members
A distinguished group of individuals is elected to serve on the board of directors. Each board member posesses unique qualities that best enables the Tye Blanton Foundation to accomplish its goals. Members can join by paying a $10 annual fee and fulfilling a minimum of 3 volunteer hours. These hours are easily attained by attending an official TBF event.
The creators of the Tye Blanton Foundation are Michaela Blanton, Tye's mother, and Shea Layman, Tye's aunt. Michaela is the wife of late trooper Shawn Blanton. With the foundation we are able to give back to the community, after all of the help they have given us. The foundation is a way to honor Tye everyday while helping to change the lives of other babies like Tye.
